Here at Sophie Says we make it easier to talk about feelings

We support grown-ups with resources and language to help little ones understand their big feelings
Sophie Says Welcome

Sophie Says … Everyone’s welcome!

Imagine a world where every child grows up feeling confident to be themselves, where they can name their feelings, bounce back from challenges, and know it’s okay not to be okay.

That’s the world we’re helping to build.

Sophie Says exists to give children the tools to understand emotions, build resilience, and develop self-belief. Through our books, classroom programmes, and wellbeing resources, we’re helping parents and teachers start the conversations that truly matter, about feelings, kindness, and courage.

This mission began as a way to honour my sister, who was a junior doctor and my best friend. After losing her to suicide, I made it my purpose to help children grow up with the emotional awareness and language that could change their future.

Every story, every card, and every classroom pack is created with one goal: to help children feel seen, heard, and supported, no matter what they’re feeling inside.

About Me

Hi, I’m Esther, founder of Sophie Says and author of the Sophie Says series.

This all began as an idea I shared with my sister, something we wanted to create together to help children believe in themselves and talk about their feelings. When I lost her, everything changed. I left my corporate career to bring our idea to life and turn it into her legacy.

Through Sophie Says, I’m on a mission to make emotional wellbeing a normal part of childhood. Our books and programmes help children understand their feelings, build confidence, and develop resilience — the kind of tools I wish every child could have growing up.

Since launching, we’ve reached hundreds of thousands of families and schools across the UK, donating books to children who don’t have any at home and offering our wellbeing programmes for free to schools in need.

This isn’t just a business, it’s my purpose. Because every child deserves to know that however they feel, they are never alone.
